Everywhere I’ve read requires initial investment. I can’t afford to invest my money in a ton of different places and hope one of them hits. I’ve also read, “just start, we all start somewhere.” So, here I am. Starting with my paid website and no experience as a writer, hoping someone finds my blog and can relate with me, until I can create something physical that’s of value to others.
I do have really good intentions with this website. I’ve dedicated an hour a day to creativity, whether it’s crocheting, sewing, felting, writing, exercise or cooking. Some days I spend several hours doing an activity, get about halfway and realize I haven’t documented taken a single start or progress photo.
This entry is to reassure myself and you, dear reader, that we all start somewhere, and I am a work in progress. I have big dreams of starting my own business and becoming completely self-reliant. I am struggling to narrow my ideas down. I do affiliate marketing, (well, I’m signed up through three companies) One is going out of business though. I have so many notebooks detailing my journey. Anyway, these are my ideas for right now:
Affiliate Marketing: I can make videos of me using products and provide discount codes to prospective customers. I can use Youtube for full tutorials and Facebook for quick reels. I can use my laptop to edit video and use my extra checking account and excel to track my income and expenses.
Create Content: I am relatable. People can relate to me, as I am. I know this, and I can relate to other people. I think that’s what I’ll start with. Awkward, but real. Keep on keeping on. I’ll find my people.
Copywriting: If I was confident in my writing skills, I can write blog posts for other people advertising their products.
Gigs: I can do commissioned work, set up at flea markets and sell my created work there, once I learn a little more.
Online Selling: I can design digital patterns and sell them, whether for sewing or crochet.
I need to build my fanbase, start with a freebie and a newsletter maybe updating recipients of what I am working or focusing on that week.
